The Activity Time setting in Xert allows you to define how the platform calculates and displays key metrics like average power and cadence. This setting also determines how activity times are shown in the Activities Dashboard and Progression Tab.

  • Total Time: Displays the total elapsed time for the entire activity, including all stops and pauses.
  • Moving Time: Reflects only the time spent moving during the activity, including coasting, and excludes rest or stop periods. This provides a more accurate measure of active cycling time.
  • Pedaling Time: Shows the time spent actively pedaling during the activity, excluding periods when you aren’t pedaling. This option is especially useful for comparing indoor vs. outdoor activities, as indoor rides typically have less coasting.

For example, if you set your Activity Time to Moving Time, the activity cards in Xert will display the time spent actively cycling, excluding any breaks or stops. As a result, Xert will recommend workouts based on your active cycling time—so if your workout goal is to ride for 2 hours, it will calculate the duration based on moving time, not total elapsed time. This means that your total elapsed time may be longer than the active time shown.
